Sen. Tom Udall is holding a town hall forum on Thursday, June 1. It will be at Eldorado High School, 11300 Montgomery Blvd NE. The doors open at 4:30 p.m., and the event starts at 5:30 p.m. No signs will be allowed inside.
Albuquerque, along with many other cities, will hold a demonstration on Saturday, June 3, to hold elected officials’ feet to the fire to ensure a completely independent investigation into Russian interference in the U.S. election, and Russian ties to Donald Trump, his administration and his associates.
Albuquerque’s event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 3 , 2017, at Tiguex Park at 10 a.m. where we will gather to show solidarity with the national movement by doing a human spell-out of “Truth Not Lies,” which will be shared via social media and with local news outlets.
Currently, the event is being supported by organizations such as Indivisible and the Progressive Democrats of America. If you would like more information on the event nationally, including a full summary of its objectives, please visit: https://www.marchfortruth.info.
At our meeting on Monday, we introduced the idea of affinity groups.
These will be optional subgroups of about four to eight people that will allow more camaraderie than the whole of Albuquerque Indivisible, which has more than 2,000 members.
Affinity groups will be small enough to allow members to get to know each other and develop bonds and community. You could meet for lunch or drinks, hold a sign-making party, or make calls or write postcards together.
The form linked below will allow you to sign up for an affinity group, the mailing list or a volunteer role. I hope you will take advantage of it.
